Geography of the Inner Man

The Inner Man
"Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day."
(quote of the Apostle Paul, 2 Corinthians 4:16)

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that he would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breath and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." (prayer of the Apostle Paul, Ephesians 3:14-19)

Rivers of Living Water (The Holy Spirit)
" "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.' " But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive ..." " (quote of Jesus by the Apostle John, John 7:37-39)

"Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirsts; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
(quote of Jesus by the Apostle John, John 4:13-14)

A Garden Locked
"A garden locked is my sister, my bride, a rock garden locked, a spring sealed up. Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruits, henna with nard plants, nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all the trees of frankincense, myrrh and aloes, along with all the finest spices. You are a garden spring; a well of fresh water, and streams flowing from Lebanon." (The Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, Song of Songs 4:12-15)

"Awake, O north wind, and come, wind of the south; make my garden breathe out fragrance, let its spices be wafted abroad. May my beloved come into his garden and eat its choice fruits!"
(The Bride, Christ's Church, Song of Songs 4:16)

"I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh along with my balsom. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk. Eat friends; drink and imbibe deeply, O lovers." (The Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, Song of Songs 5:1)

"My beloved has gone down into his garden, to the beds of balsam, to pasture his flock in the gardens and gather lilies. I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine, he who pastures his flock among the lilies."
(The Bride, Christ's Church, Song of Songs 6:2)
